New Year, New Goals, Lets do it!
Happy New Year to all my readers. I know with all the turmoil going on with Covid, I am sure that most of us did not spend the holidays how we all wanted to. But we are now into a new year, and hopefully by Summer we will begin to see more of our normal come back before COVID was even a thing.
One of my girlfriends messaged me asking me what my new years resolutions were going to be this year. I was sort of stumped. Every other year I always had an ongoing list started from early December, but this year, I was not all that eager to start a list, because I thought, what would be the point when all my resolutions required some sort of experience that I won't be able to fulfill with all our city, province, and country restrictions on every day life.
Then I thought, well I need to have some sort of list. I can not have goals. So I made the most basic new years resolution list one can think of. I will share with you guys my short list, and I am hoping this keeps me accountable to ensure I follow through with them.
1. Save $10, 000
Saving money has always been one of my weaker spots. This year with not having to do anything, or go anywhere, I figure this can be my year to get a head start of saving some money for maybe a house or something in the future. I chose to start with 10K because I'm a realist, and I did not want to epic fail at trying to save an enormous amount of money that was unthinkable.
2. Play the Lottery more often
I always talk about what I would do if I won the lottery big. But I never played. So this year I am making a point to play the lottery more. Whenever I have to get gas for the car I would put in a few dollars for a ticket. This will give me some excitement and something to look forward to a couple times a month.
3. Improve my Health
I have been on a health improvement since July of 2020, and if you have read my previous health blog post, I definitely need to put my booty into gear. I am down 15lbs. And I still have another 29lbs to lose. So this year will definitely be a huge challenge on my health and fitness goals. Focus is key.
4. Read for 1hour min daily
I have loved reading since as a child. I find that leisure reading is a way for me to relax and de-stress. I would like to make a conscience effort to read at the very least 1hour daily. If I can get more time in to read thats just a bonus. I have a long list of to read books.
5. Take the time to Self Care more (Self Pampering)
I told myself I need to start masking more often. I used to mask daily, and I stopped, for no reason at all. Maybe it was lazyness. So now I want to make a conscience effort to do mini spa nights daily to help me relax and recharge from the stressful day.
It's a new year, and my main job requires a very intense amount of effort, so my stress levels can get the best of me at times when work is really over loaded. So self pampering needs to be on my list of things to do regularly.
This year my resolution list is short. Mainly because I did not want to set expectations I would not be able to meet due to this on going pandemic we are all stuck in the middle of. So I am happy with the five points I came up with, and who knows maybe next years resolutions will be way better starting with the world starting to heal and life as we knew it would be going back to a more "normal".
What are your resolutions this year? Have you started them?
Peace, Love, Joy
