Book Review: Vampire Most Wanted by Linsay Sands

Image
I had high hopes for this novel. Anything Vampire strikes my interest because of my love of mystical and magical creators. Now, I will admit this novel stems from a large book series known as the Argeneau Series from this author, so I did not read this series from the very beginning. However, I was not impressed with the ending of this book. First off, the beginning did drag on a bit, and when it was time to get into the sexy parts of the novel, the author was not as graphic as I hoped. Lets be real, people reading this book arent any younger than 18 years old. So why PG-13 the good parts? Especially when you have on the cover a half naked man feeling up a pretty woman. Thought it would have been a little more steamy that what it actually turned out to be. The story line was interesting, Basha the main character is on the run from her family because she thinks that they are hunting her to kill her, but what she doesn’t know is that Basha was being brain washed to believe that. The a...

Halloween Mayham

Ever since I was a little girl, I always got excited for Halloween season. Mainly because I loved to dress up in costumes and pretend I was someone other than myself. Make no mistake, I didn't need Halloween to do that, because as a kid I would dress up and play pretend A lot. For me aside from the candies I would collect, something fascinated me around the topic of spooky characters. Ghosts, Witches, Vampires.  My top favorite Halloween movies as a kid and still are: Addams Family, Halloween Town, Hocus Pocus, and Double Double Toil & Trouble (with the Olsen twins). What comes in close seconds were The Witches of Eastwick, Death Becomes Her, Beetlejuice, and Nightmare on Elm Street (love Freddy Krueger) . I still can't believe to this day my mom would allow me to watch Witches of Eastwick and Death Becomes Her and Freddy as a young 8 year old. But I did grown up with two much older brothers and by that time, I had already seen the God Father, Scarface, and Rocky. So these ...

The Sound of Music

Image
When was the first time you ever heard a tune play? For me my mother used to play music throughout her pregnancy with me. Coming out of the womb I knew off by heart all the oldies tunes. My mom is the type of stay at home mom and wife who always had the radio on in the kitchen growing up. When I was little, she would always be singing, and she still does, as shes baking something in that kitchen. Which let me tell you does not help my diet I am on currently with my liver issues. But I still manage to resist, for the sake of my liver of course. I grew up with much older parents. My brothers are twenty years older than me. When I was just a little girl they were dating. So I spent a lot of time alone by myself, playing on my own. I had an amazing imagination. But the one thing that I spent hours doing was listening to music in my room, and playing "Concert", which basically entailed me to dress in a sexy (or what I thought was sexy at 10 years old, relax it was just a t shirt ...

Thanksgiving Festivities or lack there of

Every year for thanksgiving, we have been going to my oldest brothers place for the holiday. Well this year with COVID, we aren't going ANYWHERE. In Ontario, Canada, the government has advised the public to refrain from going to other peoples homes to celebrate thanksgiving. For those of you who don't know, Canada celebrates Thanksgiving usually the second weekend of October, mainly because it gets colder up hear quicker so our crops and farming ends a bit earlier than the United States.  Let me be blunt, this year has totally sucked. I am sure a lot of you agree with my opinion. What is horrible is that people are dieing, that are not related to COVID, and a lot of families are losing time with those loved ones because COVID is keeping the family members away. This is devastating. Think about that, if someone has an illness not related to COVID at all, they are losing precious memories with their loved ones, all because the government is restricting gatherings of even your i...

MLM Companies & their pushy minions

Image
Has anyone of your friends or acquaintances joined some random company to make extra cash while sitting at home? As soon as they join, they start busting your chops to sign up and buy products through them. Some companies even push you, the customer to join as an employee. These my friends are called Multi Level Marketing Companies. I won't sit here and tell you the boring details of these people on a deep level, if you are unfamiliar with what I am referring to, Google it.  Now, I know a few women who are Arbonne representatives. Nice ladies, in fact one of these ladies is so cool, she doesn't push any product on me, or even ask me to be an employee and push products on people I know. However, I have other acquaintances who just don't know when to stop hounding me.  One time, years ago, this one girl who was a friend of a friend got into Arbonne, and wanted me to test their skin care line. Some anti aging garbage. Now me being a product junky I was intrigued,...

Health is your Wealth

It's funny how this year has been all about avoiding catching COVID. It never dons on you that you should be talking care of yourself overall, until you get a wake up call. It wasn't until during quarantine in April that I noticed some fluid retention around my ankles. The fluid began to migrate behind my foot which got me concerned.  I had gained all the weight I lost from 2018 during this quarantine and then some. So I had a feeling I needed to start with losing weight. At the time in April 2020 we couldn't get a doctor appointment unless we went into the hospital emergency, and I was not going to lead my self into the center of where sever COVID patients were. So I waited, May 2020 I began starting to eat less, not on a strict diet but watching the amount of  carbs and sugar I ate. That dropped me about 5 lbs. I then remained at a stand still, July 2020 I got fed up with how I looked and felt, always sluggish, tired, miserable. I was suffering from severe anxiety and som...
